Te Ara Maurea Roydvale School Poari

Poari Secretary

All of New Zealand’s state and state-integrated schools have a Poari.

The School Poari is the Crown entity responsible for the governance, and the control of management of the school. Poaris are responsible for setting the strategic direction of the school in consultation with parents, staff and students and ensuring that their school provides a safe environment and quality education for the school’s students.

Poaris are also responsible

for overseeing the management of personnel, property, finance and administration. Members are elected by the parent community. The Principal is also a member of the Poari.

The Te Ara Maurea Roydvale Poari

governs the school in a very professional manner. This small group of people do a lot of work behind the scenes ensuring that the school is run according to legislation and that the children benefit as a result. The staff appreciates the support they receive from the Poari and the positive working environment that exists.
