Celebrations Multiplied

Jenny Washington —

Touch teams

We had three of our teams in the finals at the Nunweek Park competition on Tuesday evening. We celebrated on Wednesday with some extra playtime for the children to acknowledge their achievement. Every year Karen Odams co-ordinates teams to be entered into this local competition. These teams are possible with the support of parents as coaches and managers. Congratulations to:

Karen Odams/John Lintott/Jo Moen Roydvale Speedsters

Jack, Kyan, Jaxon, Sienna, Caleb, Tyler, Jayden, Tessa, Jenna, Ruby and Rylee.

Leanna and Steve Williams Roydvale Sprinters

Fletcher, Preston, Mitchell, Poppie, Thomas, Tim, Jade, Samantha, Corban and Sarah.

Mike and Maree Roan Roydvale Tornados

Lucas, Dylan, Matthew, Ella, Will, Elsie, Bella, Hayden, Sienna and Josh.

Words from one of our coaches / manager

“Both Steve and I are so proud of this wee team, all the children 'together' worked hard, listened, had positive encouragement and most of all worked together as a 'TEAM' . Each of them had their own strength to bring on the day which now they have proven to themselves, as they were undefeated and walked away with a gold Medal.”

Appointments

We are pleased to inform the school community of staff appointments for Term 2. We are delighted to announce that Kirsty Parker is our New Entrant teacher who will be starting the second New Entrant class at the beginning of next term, we look forward to having Kirsty back on our team. We are excited that Georgia Cone will be staying in Homeroom 8 for Term 2, extending her initial contract.

Jubilee request

Do you have publishing and design skills? We are looking for someone who can format and design our Jubilee booklet over the term break. Homerooms are organising materials (photos and text) to put into a booklet for our Jubilee. We would be interested in hearing from someone regarding these skills asap, please contact office@roydvale.school.nz

Summer Hockey

Our summer hockey has finished for the term. Well done to all our players for a great season. Many thanks to our coaches and managers.

Working bee

We are looking forward to seeing as many helpers as possible at the working bee on Saturday morning 8am -12 noon wet or fine. We intend to do this work despite the weather conditions. Please let the office know at office@roydvale.school.nz if you can assist.

You may need to bring along your gumboots and raincoats with your gardening gear.

Russley Village link

We have members of the Russley Village reading with some of our children this term. We have organised for some planter boxes to be made so the Village members can come and support the children in growing plants and vegetables in these new gardens.

Kea Camp

A huge thank you to the Kea Teaching Team Mrs Hooft, Miss Lawrence, Mrs Beckers-Yu and Mrs Buchanan for the fabulous organisation of the successful camp. The staff were supported by a fabulous team of parents who ensured the children were able to positively engage in the activities, try new adventures and they were well fed thanks to the culinary skills of Zana and Leanna. Thanks goes to Jo, Cath, Catherine, Murray, Scott, Mike, Zana, Leanna, Stu, Kate and Stacey, you all made camp possible.
