Her studies and growing range of experience have enabled and impassioned her to share her love of the violin with others. Mekaela teaches in Christchurch and also performs regularly with the School of Music at UC and with the UC Christchurch Youth Orchestra. It is her passion to share music and the violin with others.

Cost:

Individual ½ hour lesson $30

Group of 2 - ½ hour lesson $15

Group of 3 or more - ½ hour lesson $13

Instruments:

Students will need their own instrument. Without practice, there will be little progress (one of life’s greatest yet most challenging lessons!).

Flutes, clarinets and violins can be hired in various places such as KBB (located next to The Rockshop in Papanui). Price is dependent upon the term of hire.

Guitars have come down a lot in price and it is a great instrument to have at home for sing-alongs.

Payment and attendance:

Payment is to be made directly to the tutor on a term by term basis. Tutors will advise when payments are to be made as well as any terms and conditions they may have individually. It is essential that you keep music teachers informed in advance of school or personal events that will affect your child’s attendance. Please note that this is the responsibility of the parent, not the school. This point is really important! If there is a school trip etc., you must let the music teacher know in advance.
