Principal's Post - week 7, Term 3

Jenny Washington —

PONO: Sincerity Ka rongo i te ia o te aroha, he ngākau māhaki: To feel genuine intentions is to understand a charitable heart.

The end of the term is fast approaching. Our staff are looking forward to sharing information about your child’s learning and progress at the conferences in week 10 with the children.

We are fortunate to have the team of Mana Ake workers at our school. They have produced an excellent pamphlet on maintaining our wellbeing. This links into the work we have been doing over the term.

PTA news

There is a meeting tonight at the Papanui Working Men’s club at 7:30pm, see you there.

The PTA are organising a sausage sizzle on Friday 21 June for the children. For the first time the PTA are offering hot chocolates for $1 and sausages for $2. They have a team of parents who will ensure all children receive their sausage.

Congratulations to Tayla Bruce

Tayla Bruce received two awards during the Bowls Canterbury annual prize giving on 25 May 2019. These awards were Young Player of the Year and Sportswoman of the Year. It was an honour to receive them. These awards were awarded to her for her achievements in bowls for the 2018-19 season and the volunteer coaching work that she did with her club members and youth players in Canterbury.
