Be part of the team at Te Pou Toetoe: Linwood Pool

We're getting the team in place ahead of the facility's grand opening later in 2021, and there may be a perfect job for you.

Take a look at the list of jobs we'll be advertising for, and if you're wondering what you need to be a member of our team, please come along and chat with us at one of our info sessions. Talk with us about the jobs, how you could fit, and how we could support your training. See below for details.

What types of jobs will be available?

Customer Experience Representatives

  • Be the first person customers come to for questions and sales.
  • Use the customer and bookings software system, point of sale and other systems.

Swim Education Instructors

  • Deliver high quality swim education classes.
  • Follow lesson plans to meet each of your customers' needs.

Lifeguards

  • Be available for customers with questions.
  • Keep an eye on customers and help them, prevent incidents and act appropriately if there's an emergency.
  • Make sure the Poolsafe, water quality and cleanliness standards are met.

Recreation Tutors

  • Deliver high quality recreation programmes for all sorts of different people.
  • Follow class guidelines to meet each of your customers' needs.

Group Fitness / Aqua Fitness Instructors

  • Deliver high quality group fitness classes with personalised instruction to meet each of your customers' needs.
  • Have a great relationship with customers and be available to answer questions before and after classes.

Information sessions
We're holding sessions where you can find out about specific job opportunities and training support available for Te Pou Toetoe: Linwood Pool. Have a chat to one of our staff about the variety of roles available. Drop in any time during the below hours for as long as you like.

Facility open days
Come and see the staff in action at one of our Recreation and Sport Facilities to get a taste of what’s involved in a typical day at the office.

  • Tuesday 11 May, 10am–11am, Taiora: QEII Recreation and Sport Centre
  • Tuesday 11 May, 4pm–5pm, Taiora: QEII Recreation and Sport Centre

Application support sessions
Come and see us for help applying online, updating your CV and interview guidance and support.

  • Thursday 3 June, 9.30am–11.30am, Linwood Library
  • Thursday 10 June, 4pm–6pm, Linwood Library

Swim Test Have-a-go/Practice Sessions
Come along to one of our pools and give the Swim Test a go or get some practice in. A 25 metre lane will be reserved specifically for people taking part. The Swim Test includes:

1) Swim 200 metres in less than five minutes (in togs).
2) Swim 50 metres breaststroke (wearing shorts and T-shirt).
3) Swim 25 metres sidestroke (wearing shorts and T-shirt).
4) Retrieve a mannequin from a depth of two metres (wearing shorts and T-shirt).
5) Tread water for five minutes with your hands above your head (wearing shorts and T-shirt).

  • Sunday 23 May, 4.30pm–6.30pm, Taiora: QEII Recreation and Sport Centre
