Year 7 & 8 Tāhuhu Dean's Report

Robbie Timo —

Keep safe and be prepared.

Kia ora koutou. I write this report from the safety of my whānau bubble isolating at home. Having a bad head cold, sore throat and varying temperatures is not something I wish on anyone after testing positive to Covid19. As a whānau we had gone over the likelihood of this happening and stocked the medicine cabinet and loaded up the freezer in case of isolation. Lozenges and cough lollies were the saviour and kept me comfortable over the 10-day spread.

Firstly, I would like to say welcome to our new whānau of Linwood College on Ōtakaro, which will soon be Te Aratai in the not too distant future. Please refer to the school website for all the latest information regarding your child's education. Be aware we have a portal dedicated to parents only, so make sure you understand how to log in.

Your tamariki and mokopuna look awesome in their new uniforms and wear them with pride. Please ensure they are labelled along with their stationery and any other belongings. No child should have unnecessary books in their bags as they should be able to store these in the relevant classrooms. Chromebooks need to be labelled along with a carry bag for protection as these are carried around everywhere, even in the playground.

Please feel free to contact your child's teacher, either with a phone call to the school or an email as below. Especially, if they or you test positive for Covid and are self-isolating as a contact. Please ensure your child can access online learning with our Tāhuhu website by using the school Gmail. Take care, keep safe and be prepared.
