Grease
Linwood HS-Linwood College-Te Aratai College has a stellar history of the performing arts so we are excited to present our Te Aratai's first whole school musical Grease. The cast and musicians and the many staff have been rehearsing hard for this, including over the holidays, and we invite our community - near and far - to watch the show.
“It's a chance for everyone to connect with the kura and celebrate our amazing ākonga who are putting in so much effort to put on such an amazing show,” says Samantha Boyce Da-Cruz, our Head of Drama and the show's director.
Grease will be Te Aratai’s first major production in our Te Puna, our 650 seat auditorium, and no doubt will be the first of many musicals and other major performances over the coming years and decades in Te Puna.
There are three shows open to the public: 6.30pm Thursday-Saturday 20-22 July. Ticket prices are $15 for students, $25 for adults and family passes for $50. Booking details are in the poster below. Come along for a spectacular evening with hit songs such as We go together, You’re the one that I want, and Greased Lightnin.’
Connor Armstrong, Yr 13 and playing Danny Zuko says, "The cast, musicians and crew are having so much fun with this. Performing Arts is the way to go! So get your leather jacket, get your comb and come on down to Grease at Te Aratai!"
Next community article
This weekend I will have another community article that will cover a variety of topics. One of these will be the process for the new principal community consultation, which includes asking whānau and students what sort of person they want their new principal to be. This consultation helps inform the Board in making their decision on this appointment.
