Message from our Tāhuhu Dean

Larisha Toomey —

The term ahead for our Year 7 and 8s.

Kia ora koutou. We will be sending out an email over the break just to reiterate our expectations for Term 2. Being really transparent around our expectations will allow for all our ākonga (learners) to start the term positively.

Topics we will cover are social media, lateness/attendance, uniform, ready for learning, break times and breakfast club.

Our Tāhuhu team have worked tirelessly this term to ensure our learning spaces are calm and engagement is high. We have seen a major shift this year with our Year 7 ākonga and believe this is due to extra staffing for smaller class sizes, tight structures and consistency with our kaiako (teachers) in this space.

We have been extremely proud of our ākonga and feel the Year 7's have transitioned well to LCŌ and our Year 8's have really benefited from us adding another class to this year level, which means we have smaller numbers across both our Year 7 and 8 classes. We would like to wish all our precious ākonga a safe and relaxing holiday and would like to thank whānau for their ongoing support this term.

Kia haumaru te noho,

Larisha Toomey tm@linwoodcollege.school.nz
