Juniors Baking their Way Through Technology

Year 9 students have recently explored the technology curriculum by baking a variety of food items.

Year 9 students recently wrapped up their time in Food Technology. Students were tasked with creating a prototype of a baked food item that would be appropriate to sell at a bake sale to raise funds for a stakeholder of their choice. Students underwent initial planning then moved on to determine the resources they would require and finally brought all their planning and knowledge together to produce some truly amazing pieces of food.

Some students prepared components of their dish at home while others set out to create some dazzling displays. To really cement their knowledge students have written up evaluations of their products and come up with potential ways to improve their planning. The great thing about this unit of learning was the way it allowed students to challenge themselves or give something a go that really interested them.
