It is great to start Badminton up again during these winter months and a privilege to be a part of it from the sidelines.

Linwood College - Te Aratai College has had a strong tradition of having students step up to the plate to play badminton, and we are lucky to have a crew of teachers helping support students with training and transport (Ms Olivia Silvester, Ms Sig Koop, Mr Sai Vijay and Ms Kate Munro).

Yesterday, our Badminton Tatlo senior and junior girls team had an away game at St Margaret’s. I thought our player conduct and attitude was great, and our students did a super job of showing our school uara of manaakitanga and whanaungatanga as they supported each other despite our opposition being very skilled and winning most matches. Karylle Basilio had a fantastic game and won her game. Pictured below is Precious Oliveria giving a backhand shot to her opponent.
