Gammack Scholarships

Stephen Rout —

Kia ora.

Each year the James Gammack Trust awards four scholarships to students who intend to study at Lincoln University or the University of Canterbury. Each scholarship is worth $21,000 ($7,000 for each of the first three years the student is at university).

The attached document provides information on the criteria and selection process.

Applicants need to have shown they have the academic ability to succeed at tertiary study but this does not mean they need to be achieving at the Excellence level.

Preference will be given to applicants who have personal, challenging circumstances (see attached criteria). The application and reference forms ask for information about these. The selection panel, which includes me, are aware of the confidential and personal nature of this information and work hard to be sensitive to this. Based on the applications and references, the selection panel will interview about 8 to 10 applicants to help decide who to award the scholarships to.

Please pass this email on to the relevant people who can inform students of these scholarships. This might include counsellors as they may be supporting students who could be encouraged to apply. The attached document is for students and includes a link they can use to get details of how to apply.

Applications close on August 31st.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
