New Buildings for Te Aratai College

Emily Whiteman —

The new 16-Teaching-Space building has started at Te Aratai College.

Te Aratai College Board of Trustee's and The Ministry of Education are pleased to announce the start of construction of the Stage 2 of our school Rebuild master plan.

Originally, we were built for 850 ākonga, we are now at over 1200 ākonga. This will be a 16-teaching-space block, including Science and English. This will be ready for teaching day 1 of Term 1, 2026.

The Ministry has provided us with 11 additional temporary teaching spaces while the building is being constructed. These buildings are called Te Whare Haumi, and are at the rear of the school by the Bordesley Street entrance. This is on top of the 8 additional roll growth spaces where we have the year 7 & 8 Tāhuhu programme.

We are very grateful to the MoE for their quick action in getting additional teaching spaces here on-site for 2025.
