LC under 18 boys Rugby team, going strong for 2018 with 3 from 3 wins. Working hard Playing harder.

The 2018 boys rugby competition is off to a strong start this season, with three wins from three games so far. The team is playing in the Saturday Metro Rugby competition.   Their first game was against the Lyttelton Shark, winning 60-25. The game was played at Linfield park which is in partnership with the Linwood Rugby Club.

The second game was against CBHS 7XV, also played at Linfield. Cristo made his debut at hooker and played extremely well.  Va'ai Lali played through a calf injury showing some real resilience as he made some barnstorming runs.  The club is very supportive of the boys and holds well attended after match functions. 

the latest game was against the Ashley U18 team, which Linwood College won 33-17. There were some big hits from Saki on the wing, and some awesome support shown from Leeanna Lefua cutting in at full back. 

This sporting team excellence is not possible without great support from coaches, Wayne Sofai, Katie Stanton and Robbie Timo. The team is getting lots of good learning and feedback to improve their skills.  Trainings are held on Thursday nights and games are advertised in the school notices every Friday.
