Kaha House Senior Dean's Report

Lukas Davidson —

An update from Kaha House.

Kia ora koutou.

It is hard to believe we are near mid-term already. It has been great seeing everyone back and on a personal note, I have thoroughly enjoyed teaching a motivated and really settled-lot of senior classes.

Talking to students, many are setting goals for the year already and despite some being nervous about NCEA the mahi is being done and progress is being made.

Attendance of course is the key. We enjoyed rewarding students for high attendance with some Te Aratai branded merchandise at our first assembly. We also spoke about leadership opportunities that would be available throughout the year.

We are really lucky to have a large group of prefects in 2023. Naturally, this presents leadership opportunities for them but every student has opportunities to lead in some way if they are keen to put themselves forward.

Finally, as a practising endurance runner, I was filled with pride for our Te Aratai students who recently completed the Coast to Coast challenge. What a feat for these students. We congratulate Hannah Watson, Jermiah Pula, Milly Mussett, Ali Wahidi, Kevin Santos, Jaiden Hoskins and Destiny Martin.

Ngā mihi nui

Mr Davidson
