Tāhuhu Dean's Report

Robbie Timo —

Welcome to Tāhuhu for 2023.

Kia ora whānau.

My name is Robbie Timo and I am the Year 7 & 8 Dean. I have been teaching at Te Aratai for 9 years have been here when the college decided to add intermediates to their roll. Thanks to all of you who attended our Whānau Connect day last Thursday, it was a great event to finally meet some of you.

We are halfway through the term and we need to ensure that our processes are in working order. If your child is late to school please ensure they go directly to their period 1 class. No need to go to the office. Ensure they have their timetable. If they have a cell phone this needs to remain in their bag during class time.

If there are any incidents during the day I will do my best to contact you and discuss what happened. If this requires you to come into school please do so via the office where you need to sign in. You can also email or call the school to contact me about anything to do with your child’s learning.

Friday 10th March, we have the DHB nurse giving our Year 8 students their vaccination program. If parents or caregivers require any further information they are welcome to phone the PHN service: at 027 5367654 or email: HPV.Programme@cdhb.health.nz. You should have received an envelope requesting permission yes or no. Please check their bags in case it is still in there.

In Week 4 we took the Year 8s on a beach education trip to the Spencer Park Surf Lifesaving and then grabbed the boogie boards to catch some waves. It was a fun time had by all especially learning and seeing the clubhouse in action.

Ngā mihi nui,

Robbie Timo
