Year 9 Junior Dean’s Report

Pania Watson —

An update for the Year Nine Rōpū.

Kia ora!

My name is Pania Watson and I am the Year 9 Dean this year at Linwood College at Ōtakaro. I would like to extend a warm welcome to all the new whānau that have joined us this year and a welcome back to all existing whānau. This year junior deaning looks a little bit different—we have one year level dean instead of our four junior house deans. My job as a dean is to be in charge of pastoral care for all Year 9s. I will work with kaiārahi to monitor wellbeing, attendance, uniform and anything else we can do to support our Y9s being happy and achieving success at Linwood College.

Our Year 9 cohort is one of the biggest we have had in a long time—239 students and counting. It is great to see so many Y9s being a part of our whānau here at Linwood College and contributing to our school culture.

How exciting is it to move into our brand new school next term and become Te Aratai! We are so fortunate to have these wonderful facilities built just for us. We are looking forward to hopefully having a more settled Term 2 in our new space.

If you have any concerns or questions about your child please feel free to contact their kaiārahi in the first instance or if it is a higher-level issue contact me on 0220265746 or pwa@linwoodcollege.school.nz
