Waiporoporo House Deans' Report

Siegrun Koop —

Kia ora, Talofa lava and warm greetings from Waiporoporo house.

Term 3 started with a focus for our NCEA students on a review of their achievements this year and what they need to do to reach their goals. Kaiārahi and subject teachers have been working with our ākonga to support them along the way.

Another focus of Term 3 for our Year 10 and senior students are option choices and future pathways for 2022. Dan Russell and his careers counselling team are working hard to help our learners with their decision making by exploring a wide range of tertiary training opportunities from university to trades or services courses with them. Students have been starting the course selection process for 2022 via the online CareerCentral platform. Please get in contact with us, or your ākonga’s kaiārahi, if you wish to discuss their learning progress towards NCEA or option choices and career pathways.

The last couple of weeks and return to school have no doubt brought challenges, and we would like to thank our ākonga and their whānau for connecting with the school and online learning. Please do not hesitate to contact the Waiporoporo deaning team if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to connecting again on site to pick up from where we left during our busy Term 3, to re-engage with learning and for our senior students to continue their work towards their NCEA achievements.

To all our Waiporoporo ākonga and whānau, stay safe and well.

Ngā mihi nui
