Pono House Senior Dean's Report

Marco Guglietta —

Honouring academic success and perseverance.

As the school year comes to a close, it's time to celebrate the incredible achievements of our hardworking students. We are immensely proud of the dedication and perseverance displayed by our learners in their pursuit of academic success. Their journey through the challenges and triumphs this year has brought on has led to remarkable accomplishments, and it is with great joy that we reflect on the year behind us.

First and foremost, we want to extend our warmest congratulations to all the learners who have excelled academically. Your diligence and commitment have shone through, and your dedication to your studies is truly commendable. The drive and determination to overcome obstacles, and the passion for learning have culminated in your well-deserved academic achievements.

Through your unwavering efforts, many of you have reached significant milestones, be it in NCEA or other areas of your academic journey. You've proven that with hard work and determination, you can conquer any challenge that comes your way. Your accomplishments are a testament to your resilience and the bright future that awaits you.

For our Year 13 students, this marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. We bid you farewell with mixed emotions, proud of your growth and achievements, and a touch of sadness as we say goodbye. The friendships forged, the memories created, and the knowledge gained during your time here will stay with you for a lifetime. We believe in your potential to succeed in the world beyond these school walls, and we eagerly anticipate hearing about your future accomplishments.

Our recent Senior Prizegiving and Hui Whakapūmau events were an absolute success. These occasions provided a platform to recognize and celebrate the outstanding achievements of our senior students. The pride and joy that filled the room were palpable as students received well-deserved awards and accolades for their accomplishments. It was a time to acknowledge not only academic achievement but also contributions to the school community, leadership, and character.

The Hui Whakapūmau evening was an opportunity for our Year 13 students to come together, share their experiences, and reflect on the journey they've taken together. It was a beautiful blend of nostalgia and hope for the future, with the sharing of stories, laughter, and perhaps a few tears. It was a poignant reminder of the tight-knit community that has been nurtured during their time at our school.

As we wrap up this school year, we are filled with pride, gratitude, and hope. Our learners have proven that success is attainable through hard work and perseverance, and the memories we have created together are priceless. As we bid farewell to our Year 13 students, we do so with the utmost confidence in their abilities and the knowledge that they are ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Congratulations to all our learners for a fantastic year, and a special farewell to our Year 13 students. We look forward to hearing about your future achievements and hope you carry the spirit of our school with you wherever you go. Have a wonderful and well-deserved break, and we'll see you next year for new adventures and fresh successes.
