Bookings for Years 7-10 Wā Whakanui and Academic Conferencing for Years 11-13

Natasha Powell —

Whānau can now make bookings with the attached links and information.

The kaupapa/purpose of the junior Wā Whakanui and senior Academic Conferencing is for our students, whānau and teachers to discuss our students' learning progress and the next steps in their learning goals. The student leads this conversation as much as possible. To make this authentic Yr 7-10 students will have selected examples of their school work to share with their whānau and show their progress. It will also be an opportunity to discuss and “sign off” the 2022 option selections for Year 10,11 and 12 students.

Bookings are for Thursday 2nd September 1:00pm-6:00pm and Friday 3rd September 10.00am-3:00pm. This means that there are no classes Thursday afternoon or Friday. Students will be released from school on Thursday 2nd September at the end of Period 3, 12.20 pm, and there are no classes Friday 3rd September.

To make an appointment to meet with your child and their kaiārahi, please visit www.schoolinterviews.co.nz and use the event code: 3gzx5. Alternatively, you can email office@linwoodcollege.school.nz or phone (03) 982 0100 to make your appointment.

Each booking slot is 20 minutes long and the teacher present in this conversation will be the student's kaiārahi/form teacher. This means there is a sustained conversation about the student's progress and next steps, not the rushing every 5-10 minutes from appointment to appointment. It is also fine to request a time to meet with specific subject-teachers if that is any whānau's wish. You can email your student's kaiārahi or dean to organize this.
