A summary of the Linwood College First XI football season.

During the winter sports season, the Linwood College Football First XI took part in the Senior Div 2 competition against various teams from around the region. Week on week, the boys led by Mohammed Shah (c) continued to show signs of improvement as they crept up the leaderboard. After two heavy defeats at the start of the season, the squad bounced back with a 5-1 win against STAC and finished the season with an emphatic 7-0 win over CCC, finishing 6th overall. The team learnt to understand the game, grew in self-belief and developed confidence in their peers which led to a cohesive and close-knit team with a sense of togetherness.

Coached by Mr Marco Guglietta and Mr Garth Lewis, the team trained every week and the quality of their performances was a result of the hard work and commitment they made to the team. In a bittersweet end to the season, seniors Mohammed Shah, Roy Ah-Loe and Manaia Pita depart. Despite this, some new faces joined the team this year and football at Linwood College shows signs of potential and desire to continue to improve.
