Warm greetings from the Mana rōpū.

Kia ora koutou.

As we approach the midpoint of the academic year, it is worthwhile for learners to take a moment to reflect on their progress. I encourage all ākonga to check in on their NCEA credits and share them with their whānau. It is important to remind ourselves of our goals and share our successes. By being aware of their current standing and progress, learners can make the most of their learning opportunities. All progress can be checked online through the Parent Portal on our website. Any trouble signing in or remembering passwords, just email me for help.

With this in mind, I'll take this opportunity to congratulate five outstanding Mana individuals who were recently awarded Rangatiratanga awards at our senior assembly. These students have exemplified our kura uara with their self-determination and diligence by leading the school in NCEA achievement and personalized pathways. Let's acknowledge their efforts and applaud the achievements of Mark Lemon (Y13), Ethan Cooke (Y12), David Templeton (Y12), Dacota Davidson (Y11), and Izzy Carruth (Y11). They have set a commendable example for their peers and deserve our heartfelt recognition.

Looking ahead, I would like to remind everyone about the upcoming "Whānau & Subject Teacher Interviews" scheduled for the 15th of June. These interviews provide a valuable opportunity for ākonga, whānau, and kaiako to collaborate and discuss progress, challenges and academic goals. We encourage you to book your interview slots in the School Interviews portal which will be emailed to whānau and make the most of this important communication channel. Together, we can work towards supporting the development and success of every learner.

Additionally, as the colder months settle in, let's not forget to extend our support to our school's winter sports teams. Whether it's cheering from the sidelines, driving teams, or participating in team events, your presence and enthusiasm makes a significant difference. Let's rally behind our athletes and demonstrate the spirit of manaakitanga, whanaungatanga and sportsmanship that defines our school community.

We believe in the potential of each and every learner, and we are here to support and guide them on their educational journey as best we can. Let's keep the momentum going, inspire one another and make the time to celebrate our successes with friends and whānau.

Ko Te Aratai tātou, mai i te uta ki te tai.

Warm regards,

Nick Colville
