Kōwhai House Deans' Report

Jane Schroeder —

Kia ora koutou, malo e lelei, talofa lava, namaste and kumusta to our Kōwhai whānau.

So here we are, out of another lockdown, doing our bit for the fast and smooth return to a healthy national community. Firstly, we would like to thank the 98% of our Kōwhai whānau and aiga who have been able to respond to our communication home to let us know how your whānau is holding up and what our ākonga might need in order to access learning from home. It is important to us to know that our learners, who we are used to seeing every day, are safe and well.

If you are in Year 10-12 now is the time to complete subject selections for next year. If you need more information to make the right choices for you, let your Ako teacher know. Over the last week or so your kaiārahi have been making phone calls home to our seniors to share what your teachers are saying about you and your learning. This has replaced the academic conferencing planned for this year.

If you have any questions about changes to NCEA, check out the NCEA tab on the Assessment and NCEA information page. There is a google doc which you can ask questions and Mr Osbourne is answering them regularly.

We are all looking forward to seeing you again as soon as that is possible. If you need anything at all, please feel free to contact either your Ako teacher or Ms Schroeder schr@linwoodcollege.school.nz or Miss Watson pwa@linwoodcollege.school.nz.

Tangata ako ana i te whare, te turanga ki te marae, tau ana.

A person who is taught at home, will stand collected on the Marae.
