Team Harakeke Cultural Morning At St Allisa's
Did you know that songs serve to unify groups of people and to move them to common action or to help them express common emotions?
Team Harakeke decided to go and visit the residents at our local rest home, St Allisa's, to share aroha, whanaungatanga and build relationships through song and dance. We sang a variety of Maori Waiata, Samoan and Tongan songs, and finished with a beautiful Chinese Fan Dance performance. Our learners were really excited to share these songs with the residents of St Allisa's, and are looking forward to our next visit to share whanaungatanga and aroha with them!
