On the afternoon and evening of Wednesday 23rd August, a group of Riccarton Primary School Year 7 and 8 students took part in Cantamath at the Horncastle Arena. They were accompanied by Mrs Cooper, Miss Johnson, Mrs Oldham and Mrs Goulter.

Cantamath is an annual Christchurch mathematics competition where children work together to problem solve various mathematics questions.

Our students trained weekly for a few months to prepare for this event and represented Riccarton Primary very well. It was a really enjoyable evening and the children said they would like to be a part of Cantamath again in the future if the opportunity arises.

Well done to the Year 7 team of Malakai Tahaafe, Sandee Sese, Rebecca McFie and Tiffany Phan and to the Year 8 team of Bob Cuizon, Tony Chen, Quansheng Zhen and Jiawei Su. They all worked hard and put in a lot of effort.
