Westpac and the Sir Peter Blake Trust Young Leaders Award
This year we were very lucky to be able to nominate one of our amazing Riccarton Learners for a Westpac and a Sir Peter Blake Trust Young Leader's Award.
The Young Leader Award celebrates a student who has:
integrity
determination and the will to succeed
the skills of a good team builder, leader and member
a hard working and 'knows how to have fun' attitude
This year the Riccarton Primary School recipient of the Westpac and the Sir Peter Blake Trust Young Leader's Award is Caley Tee. Caley makes an excellent contribution to Riccarton Primary School by being a leader within the Club Captains group and also by supporting the other learners in the team and across the school. There have been many occasions during break times where she has helped settle disagreements and problems/issues between younger learners, particularly in the sandpit. She is a great role model for others in Team Kahikatea and she is often overheard reminding others how they should be behaving in school. Caley is a buddy reader with a younger learner. She is very diligent in making sure she reads with her buddy every day and does her best to support the learning of this younger student. Caley looks after others who are feeling unwell or who are upset and makes sure that the teacher knows what is going on. She is always willing to help out, whether it be a teacher or another learner. Caley is a focused learner who always tries her best in class and strives to produce work to the very best of her ability. Caley consistently demonstrates what it means to be a Respectful, Responsible, Real Learner.
Caley was presented her award during our Term 3 Club R3 assembly by Libby from Westpac.
