150th Anniversary:

So far we have only had a few registrations for our 150th Anniversary. We will keep registrations open until Monday 11th September. If we don't have enough registrations by then we will change the 150th celebration to an in-school event on Friday 20th October, which anyone can come to. Details to follow; https://fb.me/e/1nPO78Pf8

Concerns and Complaints

Our school has established a clear plan for addressing concerns and complaints. This plan ensures the safety of everyone involved and ensures fairness in dealing with issues. It also aims to resolve problems promptly and amicably, emphasising the importance of addressing concerns directly with the school rather than discussing them elsewhere.

In most cases, problems are resolved through open discussions to find solutions. Normally with the person concerned first then with senior leadership if needed. If this doesn't work, there is a formal process for addressing the issue. While parents may contact the Ministry of Education, they typically redirect concerns back to the school.

We maintain a record of important complaints to track them and make improvements. However, we reserve the right to decline assistance for unreasonable or malicious complaints. Our goal is to treat everyone fairly and compassionately. For more serious issues, external assistance may be sought. Instances of inappropriate behaviour are taken seriously as well.

In short, if you have a grumble, please talk to the person concerned first. If you are not happy with the outcome, please contact senior leadership.

New School Values:

It is fantastic to see the new school values being utilised across the school and we are very proud of how our learners are using them every day. Most learners know what they mean and can demonstrate them. Please talk to your children about being Te Kāpehu All Stars and showing the 4 Ms - of Mana, Manaaki, Manawaroa and Manawa Ora!

Nga mihi nui

Paul Irving
