Greetings whānau . I am a teacher of Te Reo Māori . Since 2016 I have been teaching Te Reo at Riccarton Primary for 1 hour per week. It is a privilege tō have your tamariki on their journey tō learn the language of our tūpuna . We cover many areas in which to enhance their learning of Te Reo Māori me Ōna Tikanga, some of which are are games, waiata, and of course kōrero .

What also helps your tamariki immensely is to follow up with Te Reo i te Kāinga - Language in the Home. So each day help lead and support your tamariki with everyday kupu to reinforce their learning. That way their progress will grow. There are lots of great websites to assist their and your learning as well! Maori Television is leading the way with programmes such as Tōku Reo and Ōpaki . But of course nothing beats learning Te Reo than speaking it. So whānau karawhuia!!
