Cattlestop Crag Rock Climbing
On the last week of term two, 20 students were given the opportunity to go rock climbing with Adventure Specialities, who were working with the students to build their leadership and communication skills.
Adventures of Rock Climbing
It was an exciting Monday morning. 10 lucky year 7s got ready to go up high on the edge of the Port Hills. As we drove up to Cattlestop Crag we could see the whole city. We were so high up that even when you looked down it felt like you were going to fall. There, somewhere on the side of the hill, was a track that would lead us to our destination. We put our harnesses on then walked the muddy covered path while we were laughing and slipping. As we started to climb the humongous rock, our hands were starting to nervously sweat as we placed our hands on the hard cold rocks. There we were, right in the centre of the rock, shaking as we desperately reached our finish line. I slowly leaned back and I finally started going down. I thought "I’ll never touch the ground again" but my friends were annoyingly supportive.
