NPDL - Defining Character

Whaea Adele —

This term, as we focus on New Pedagogies for Deep Learning (NPDL), our learners are thinking about the word 'Character'.

It is the first of the 6Cs we are focusing on as a school.

To have Character means we have Grit, Perseverance, Resilience, Empathy, Compassion and Tenacity. This is a core collection of skills that defines how we as learners grapple with new ideas and solve problems and how we relate to others.

In each team, the students are working on unpacking the word Character so it becomes a part of our daily speak at Te Kāpehu Riccarton School.

We would love this to continue into discussions at home too!

Let's all work together to develop our tamariki and ourselves as awesome characters!
