S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) is a huge part of the learning in Team Kāpuka.
Problem solving and applying learning to ‘real-world’ scenarios helps the students to see the application of the concepts that they are learning. The Team Kāpuka students have really enjoyed completing S.T.E.A.M. activities each week, and among other tasks have explored forces and motion by creating miniature catapults and trying to hit a target. They have also explored drag, lift and mass by designing parachutes to hold glue sticks.
