Matariki Celebration 🌟
Room 2 enjoyed preparing and hosting a Matariki Celebration with Room 11 on Tuesday 16 June.
We prepared a peach and apple crumble to share with Room 11 and sang them a waiata called Matariki.

First we had to prepare invitations to invite Room 11 to our Matariki celebration. We made these on the computer.
The day we did the celebration, we peeled the apples. We each had two apples to peel and cut. We cooked them and added them to a big cooking dish. Next we measured out the dry ingredients for the crumble mix. We mixed it with butter and sprinkled on top of the fruit. We cooked it in the oven for 30 minutes.
Then at 12:30 Room 11 came. First we sang a Matariki song. Then we did a karakia to eat and served the apple and peach crumble with cream. I decided not to have any because I had a donut in my lunch. It sounded delicious. My friend Grace had some and she liked it! All I wanted was the whipped cream.
After we ate we played on the big playground early. It was really fun.
