With netball providing new ways to deliver the sport, we at Hornby Netball are also changing with the times. There are some new competitions being provided this season and we invite you to join our club if you want to play if any of these competitions takes your fancy. 

1. Walking Netball - we are looking for roughly enough to make 1 team to enter this year. (at least 9-10 players).

2. Boys mixed up to the age of U17.3. No limits - this is an inclusive programme designed for anyone aged between 5-18 years to be able to participate regardless of varying physical abilities or sight/hearing impairments.We can be contacted at hornby.netball@gmail.com

No Limits Netball has started for our 2023 Summer season. No Limits Netball is an inclusive programme designed for anyone aged between 5-18 years to be able to participate regardless of varying physical abilities or sight/hearing impairments or health conditions.

The programme starts at 4.45pm with a 15 min skill/activity session and will then be followed by a game of netball against another team, finishing around 5.45pm.

Players can enter as part of a team or individually and be allocated to a team – there is no charge to attend.

No Limits starts on Weds 8th February and finishes on Weds 29th March.

Walking Netball has also started for the 2023 Summer season. Walking Netball is for people 18+ and includes participants in wheelchairs, with prosthetic limbs, intellectual and/or physical disabilities, sight/hearing impairments, health conditions.

The programme starts at 6pm with a 10 min warm-up and is then followed by a game, finishing around 6.45-7pm.

Players can enter as part of a team or individually and be allocated to a team – there is no charge to attend.

No Limits starts on Weds 8th February and finishes on Weds 29th March.

FC TWENTY !!FC Twenty 11 is your local football club based at Avonhead Park. We offer football for all ages, all year round. Registrations are open for our Back to Football 4 week pre season programme for 8 - 17 year old players onwards. This is a great way to build up fitness before the start of the winter season. For younger kids just starting out on their football journey we offer First Kicks (4-5 years old) and Fun Football (6-7 years old) sessions commencing Friday 10th Feb. These sessions provide a fun and enjoyable experience for both new and experienced youngsters.

In every session we focus on FUN games which develop some of the basic motor skills such as running, jumping, and change of direction, alongside dribbling and shooting games.

We also offer a special Girls Only programme for ages 8 upwards. This programme offers the opportunity for girls to be involved in football in a way that is specific to their needs.We offer an environment that is safe where the individuals are able to grow and develop alongside their peers with the support of their coaches.

Through the programme girls are able to build connections with their peers and create long-lasting friendships. Accessible Youth Theatre Programme starts Term 1

Glass Ceiling Arts Collective’s Accessible Youth Theatre programme starting Term 1 in Christchurch, at Showbiz Studios on St Asaph Street. Our supported program enables young Disabled people equal access to Youth Theatre alongside their non disabled peers and members of their whanau. The programme is co designed by the participants ensuring we deliver what the group wants and needs. It could be a full scale Musical Theatre production like Shrek Jr in a big theatre or a short film for a World renowned Film Festival….the opportunities are endless.
