Room 3 learners have been enjoying a range of science and design activities that have really sparked their writing and curiosity.

At the very end of last term, we were kindly donated 2 kitset birdhouses from Mitre 10 in Hornby. This was an awesome way to complete our Backyard Bird Inquiry and instructional writing focus. We are waiting for the delivery of our wood stain and will then decide the best place for our birdhouses to be located at school. Mihi nui to Colin our Caretaker and Casey our amazing learning support aide for helping us with this project.

We had a go at making SLIME too, which was amazingly successful! The engagement and scientific language was awesome to hear and I think we have a few budding entrepreneurs amongst us too!! Team Kāpuka are looking forward to their Tūranga Library and City trip in Week 7. We really need parent help for this trip to be able to happen, so please let us know on the form coming home or speak to your child's teacher if you are able to come with us.
