Numicon is a really fun way of learning mathematics.

It is an approach to teaching mathematics that uses materials, such as Numicon shapes, to help children visualise and understand numbers.

The other day the Year 3 & 4 tamariki in Space 2/3 were learning about counting in 10s right up to large 3-digit numbers. 

First the tamariki each made robots out of 10 cubes and then displayed them and counted in tens to work out how many they had in total.

It made learning really fun by being creative and then counting!
