Who are we?

The "Home & School" is a group of enthusiastic and dedicated parents who work to raise funds for our school, coordinate school projects and welcome new parents.

As with any group we could always do with more members, so if you can help out with any activities, attend meetings regularly (see the online calendar for the next meeting date) or help to welcome new families then please get in contact with one of the Home & School members listed below.

What do we do?

Each year the major fundraising project is the Swannanoa Country Fair which is organised by the Fair Committee, also part of the Home & School.

Other smaller Home & School fundraising projects include:

• Selling clean, tidy second-hand uniform items.

• Camp Fundraising e.g. hot lunches, raffles, discos

We also try to support the students and parents by organising social events throughout the year such as discos or provide hot drinks/ food at school events such as sport days.

Where does all of the money go?

All of the money raised by the Home & School and its fundraising groups (Swannanoa Country Fair and Swannanoa Plant Sale) goes towards resources for the students of Te Koromiko Swannanoa School, such as:

• Library books

• Teacher and Student Support Staff

• Support of school camps

• Team Sports uniforms e.g. touch tops.

• Prize giving 

• End of year Social Functions and farewell for seniors.

• Furniture

• Instructional readers

• Support of the new values programme

• 2019 we supported the redevelopment of our swimming pool area.

• 2020 support of the digital literacy curriculum - Robotics, STEAM, Lego, Blu Bots, Tuning Tumbles, 3D Printer

• 2021 - Interactive outdoor learning area

• 2023 - Instructional Readers, Kaiāwhina

• 2024 - Trampolines, Gaga pit, Sports Gear, Line markings, Kaiāwhina, Scooters and EzyRollers
