Korero from Gareth
Kia ora e te whānau,
It has been an exciting last two weeks for our school community. It was good to connect with so many whanau over the last fortnight at prize giving and to share the success your students have achieved this year.
Our celebrations and prizegiving have been an opportunity to recognise and acknowledge some of the wonderful gifts and talents our young people have. I have enjoyed seeing the growth in these students and celebrating our prizewinners at prize giving. Congratulations to everyone who has been involved in these events. A special thanks to our staff and students who put in the extra hours to make this all happen.
As I write this message, Our Ki o rahi team are travelling back from Wellington where they have been competing at National champs. They made the top 8 and have given their best. We are really proud of their achievements. Thank you to Nano Te Whare and Te Oranga Anderson for the time and effort they have given to this team.
The message I have given to the staff is to finish strong for our juniors. I have the same message for the students. To finish strong and make the most of the opportunities. Our assembly this week was on focus and not getting distracted. It has been great to see the number of seniors that have come back in to finish things off. A big thank you to staff and students that have pulled together and continue to work hard with a focus on finishing the year well.
To our students who are leaving us this year, go well. We are wishing you all the best and we can’t wait to see you take flight and hear about the amazing things you are doing in the world.
To our staff who are leaving us, we wish you all the best on your next adventures and sincere thanks for the amazing work you have done.
Finally,
Stay well.
Stay safe.
Ngā manākitanga,
Gareth
