Everyday Matters - Attendance @ Te Kuiti High School

Deputy Principal —

At Te Kuiti High School teachers are working hard to support students attend school on a regular basis.

Students attending school regularly is an area we as a staff are focusing on as it's strongly linked with student progress and achievement.

We encourage all of our students to be at school on time and aim to be here each school day. We ask that if your child is going to be away that you inform us by calling the school on 07 878 6292 dial 1 or via direct message on Facebook or provide your child a written note signed by you to hand to their Whanau Teacher or Attendance Officer for our records.

Attendance is an important indicator of student wellbeing, engagement in learning, and connection to the school (He Whakaro, 2020). We understand that there are a variety of reasons that students may not be attending school, so I encourage parents/caregivers to contact us so we can work through any barriers together.
