Miss Lancaster - Room 11.

Shona Mckenzie —

We are lucky enough to have had Miss Meg Lancaster join us in Room 11 this year. We have asked her some questions so we can get to know her better.

  • How have you found your first week at Casebrook?

My first week at Casebrook has been great! It has been wonderful to meet all the amazing students and their whānau! - If you see me around school please do not hesitate to introduce yourself and say hi!

  • How long have you been in education for?

This year is my first official year teaching! I graduated in 2023 and have done a little bit of relieving at other schools since then.

  • Why do you love being a teacher? In education?

I love teaching because no day is ever the same! I also love being able to connect with young people and see/help them grow.

  • What are you most looking forward to this year?

This year I am looking forward to being able to do lots of learning inside and outside of the classroom. The upcoming year 7 trek and surfing trips are going to be a blast and are fantastic opportunities to learn new skills!

  • What is your favourite subject to teach and why?

My favourite subject to teach is literacy - I love to read so being able to study class novels and investigate key themes and ideas is great fun!

  • What do you enjoy doing outside of school?

Outside of school I love hanging out with friends and whānau! I am a sports fan so I am often sitting around with my family watching rugby, cricket or football! I am also a keen dancer and I look forward to getting back into this hobby more this year!

  • What is your hidden talent?

My hidden talent is that I can juggle! I had to learn how to do this in high school and the skill has just stuck with me since then!

We know our community will make her feel welcome!
