Red Riding Robin Hood
Who remember’s Justin Baby Bear-ber from last year? Well the NZ Playhouse is back.
On the 11th of June 2018, they performed Red Riding Robin Hood for the students of Thorrington School. This story was about a girl who tried to stop King George 7th trying to steal 101% of taxes to build a wall between the enchanted forest and the township to prevent the forest monsters from coming into the town and scaring the townspeople. It was very funny and was a mix between Little Red Riding Hood and Robin Hood. The moral of the story was: no matter who you are, you can do anything, and always believe in yourself. Also, doing the right thing is cool! Pew pew pew wa da da da da da!
Here are some highlights from students in Year 1-4:
Unnati said “I liked when the girl started reading the the note and cried in between because she was the Town Crier.” (Literally)
Tyson said - “I liked when the King shot the arrows.”
Libby said - “I liked all of it because it was so funny.”
Nelson said - “I liked the roundabout dance.”
Here are some highlights from students in Year 5-6:
Mille said - “It was really funny and I liked the actors - they did a good job.”
Lily said - “I liked how interactive they were with the audience - we all had a great time.”
Eddie said - “I liked the comedy and the storyline.”
Mormor said - “I liked it when the King got caught in the roundabout, because it was really funny.”
Overall Thorrington had a fantastic time laughing their morning away with Sophie, Connie and Raymond from the NZ Playhouse. We bet everyone can’t wait for them to come back next year!
