14 students qualify for the Canterbury Athletics Championships on Wednesday 29th November

On Friday 10th November Te Kura o Huriawa Thorrington took out a strong contingent of 49 students to the South Zones Athletics Championships.

Thank you to all of the parents that assisted as officials on the day. A huge congratulations to all of the students for their efforts on the day, some last minute event filling due to absences, and support of their fellow students, we are delighted to confirm we will be taking 14 students to this years Canterbury Championships to be held at Nga Puna Wai on Wednesday 29th November.

The following students will be representing us:

Year 5 Boys:

  • Jordan Finnie - 80m & Long Jump
  • Mac Rea - 60m
  • Solomon Boath - 60m

Year 6 Girls:

  • Mercedes Williams - 80m, High Jump & Relay
  • Georgia Kirk - 60m, Long Jump & Relay
  • Harper Muir - High Jump & Relay
  • Abi Jamieson-Green - 60m & Relay
  • Holly McLeish - 1000m

Year 6 Boys:

  • Hugo Whitley - 1000m, 80m & Relay
  • Louie Newman - 1000m & Relay
  • Tiago Morreau - 60m & Relay
  • Jaden Stedman - Relay
  • Josh Smith - 60m
  • Sam Stuart - Shot Put
