On Tuesday 26th February the Tuakana team went to Jellie Park for their swimming sports. We had a strong team of 115 swimmers who took part in the 25m non competitive and 50m competitive events. It was a really fun event. The children all seemed to enjoy themselves and it looked like there were a lot of personal bests! Well done to all those children who took part and supported their friends in their races. Thank you to all the amazing helpers on the day - Chris Panther and the Tuakana teachers for making sure the event ran smoothly. Sharon Manson, Fiona Johnson, Jacqui Baars, Jodie Smith and Kerrin Thomson for helping me with the place getters and results. Full results are attached.
We have a team of 14 children that will be heading off to South Zones swimming sports on Thursday 14th March. Neve Munro, Grace Smith, Isla Vick, Lucy Derry, Terenzo Geddis, Isaac Burhs, Ashlee Baars, Scarlett Maclennan, Evie Roy, Pippa Maze, Louis Whitley, Oliver Farquhar, Max Denison, Flynn Robertson.
South Zones swimming will be my last event as sports coordinator. I have done the role for 3 years and have really enjoyed my time. It has been great to get involved in the school and to help run their sporting events. It has also been really good for me to meet lots of new parents and all the fabulous children. Thank you to all the parents and teachers that have helped me do my job successfully over this time. I am handing over to Zoe Pullin, who has 3 children at school, and is already well into the role, the sports is in very good hands. I’m sure you will still see lots of me around sporting events!
