Here are the details of two jobs vacancies that we have at Thorrington.

Sports coordinator 

This role is 8 hours a week  and includes the following tasks: 

• Organise and run all sporting events throughout the school year. Working in mostly with the senior school, planning swimming, cross country, athletics and winter sport at school, South Zone and all sport at Primary Canterbury level.
• Sorting equipment and uniforms, booking venues and transport and planning parent help
  
• Ensure appropriate notices, permission slips, protocol and SAPS are followed and shared with teachers and office staff
• Organising trials and team selection for winter sports
  
• Communicating with parents and teachers regarding all upcoming events
• Organising and registering teams/individuals for miniball, netball, touch rugby, basketball, gymnastics, cycle safety and cricket
  
• Planning swimsafe for the whole school
  
• Facilitating any organisation that would like to come into school to provide sporting opportunities for the children, eg tennis, Kelly Sports, futsal
• Managing a sports budget and allocating resources 

Gardener 

We require a gardener to keep on top of the school frontage, the classroom frontages and a general tidy of other areas around the school buildings. The hours are flexible but will equate to four hours per week.
