24 Thorrington runners represented the Thorrington Primary last Wednesday at the South Zones Cross Country at Halswell quarry. The course was a bit wet and there were a few challenging mud puddles, but this didn't phase the children, who all put in a fantastic effort. We had some amazing results with the following children qualifying for Primary Canterburys cross country on June 20th.

Year 5 boys - Harry Sworn 1st, Flynn Robertson 2nd, Casey Cleine 3rd, Declan Bennett 4th

Year 6 boys - Oscar Le Lievre 1st, Hugo Knowler 2nd, Nate Vossler 4th

Year 6 girls - Sydney Booth 5th

Thank you to Bill Paige for helping me set up the gazebo and the course. Thank you to all the parents and Carmel Knight who helped us transport the children there and a special thank you to NIkki Cleine and Andi Fear Ross for helping out with marshalling.

I am looking forward to seeing how the children go at Canterburys!!
