KAIROS DANCE CONVENTION AND CAPEZIO MODEL SEARCH
By Lily Dougherty and Millie Bradford-Woodland
2 weeks ago Lily Dougherty and Millie Bradford-Woodland went to an amazing dance convention up in Auckland. It is called Kairos Dance Convention! There were different sections to enter in age categories, like Junior, Intermediate, Senior, and Advanced. They entered Junior. There were tutors from America, Canada, Melbourne and more. The tutors names are James Fenwick (street), Adam Parson (Jazz), Tim Barnes (lyrical), Tanicka (hip hop), Sabrina (contemporary) Alison (Ballet) Stephen Tannos (Urban).
There was a capezio model search and Lily and another friend entered it. On Saturday there was a half an hour workshop. The person that ran the photoshoot told us how to pose for a camera. She said start in a simple pose like a plie then add arm or lift a leg. She said you can create interesting poses by just adding from something simple. There were two groups for the photo shoot. Lily and her friend were both in the second group so they were doing it on Sunday. For the photoshoot we had to have three poses. A standing pose, a casual, and a technical pose. The technical pose you could do a jump or something bendy. The results for the photoshoot were present at the showcase like all the other awards. There were two winners, a junior and a senior. The junior got a tiara and the senior got a very large crown.
