Room 4 & 5 Renovations

Chris Panther —

Over the holidays a few modifications have been made to the Room 4 and Room 5 learning spaces. As part of the Thorrington journey towards becoming more collaborative in our practice, a section of the wall that divided Room 4 and Room 5 has been removed. Previously the students in Room 4 and Room 5 had to use the cloakroom door to move from one space to another. Now they can literally "walk through the wall".

By opening this space up students have a better understanding of how they are working together as one whole team, have more flexibility in selecting learning spaces, and teachers are able to better monitor those students who are working independently. For more information about the positives of this type of learning space design CLICK HERE to view the Ministry of Education's website geared to transforming classrooms into "Innovative Learning Environments". A huge thanks to the Board of Trustees and Mr Page for all of their efforts in the completion of this renovation.

Feel free to pop your head in the door (or look through the window) if you are keen to see how these spaces look in person.
