Te Kura o Huriawa Thorrington take home the title as 2nd best year 5/6 school team in Canterbury

On Thursday 24th September our year 5/6 Netball team represented the South Zone in the 2020 Primary Sports Canterbury Netball Championships at Hagley Courts.

Having won all before them during a strong Winter Sports season, and a close loss to the Teachers in the build up to the day, the Netball squad were confident of having a good tournament.

On the day the team performed amazingly once again and just missed out on being champions to a very strong Marshlands School team.

A huge well done to the squad: Leon Leppens, Grace Smith, Neve Munro, Olivia Balance, Zara Whitehead, Ashlee Hazlet, Esme Bush and Micah Whitley.

A big thank you also to Helen Whitley who coached the team during the Winter Sports season and also to Jodie Wickes who assisted with the management and reffing on the day.
