Girls Cricket Festival
Last Friday, 48 students attended a Girls Cricket festival run by Cricket Wellington. Throughout the day the eight Papakōwhai teams played each other and teams from Postgate and St Theresa's. A great day was had by all the students. A huge thank you to the parent helpers.
The Papakōwhai Wha team of Courtney Higham, Katie Bunton, Emma Harrison, Milah Un, Olivia Mitchell and Isabelle Aubrey did exceptionally well; winning their 5 games and the trophy for the Year 5/6 age group. Here are some quotes from them about their day: " I had an amazing day playing cricket. I have only played with my family before so playing in a team was great fun." Milah. "Amazing, Fantastic, Awesome day!" Olivia. "It was great fun. I enjoyed playing cricket with my friends." Courtney. " I really enjoyed cricket and learned new skills, such as learning how to bowl properly. I got two wickets out." Emma " I had a great day playing cricket and scoring runs for our team." Katie
