Home and School —

The Home and School committee is a group of parents, grandparents, and teachers who come together to organise community building events and fundraising for those things not covered by school donations.

In the past, things like the school disco, end of year BBQ’s and shopping nights have made it possible to provide:

  • 90 netball uniforms
  • Netball gear bags, gear and 100 netballs
  • Rugby uniforms for interschool competitions
  • Ripper tags and belts
  • Ki-o-rahi set
  • Rugby posts and safety pads
  • MicroBits for Coding Club
  • cPen for student support
  • Painted the Rata playground
  • Provided teacher jackets for all the teachers at school at a reduced rate
  • Researched and funded pool cover feasibility report

As well as these one-off things, we also fund the gift of a book for each school leaver.

School hoodies and bucket hats can be ordered in the first 4 weeks of Term 1, 2 and 3 each year via Kindo.

The Executive Committee

The committee meets 2–3 times per term and aim to organise at least one big community event each term. We also have regular activities throughout the year, such as coordinating the order of children’s art calendars, and organising student hoodie orders.

Each event we run needs extra helpers, which usually means 1–2 hours commitment once a term. Without that help the events couldn’t happen. So if you’re interested in helping out but can’t commit to being part of the committee, you can still volunteer for one of the events. This might be selling sausages at the end-of-year BBQ or being on the door at the disco. To make things easier for you, this is now an option on Kindo for each event.
