West Melton welcomes....

Liz Griffiths - Mānuka

Kia Ora, I am Liz Griffiths,

I am married with two son’s Brandon (6) and Charlie (2) who keep me on my toes, I also have a cat called Luna.

My passions are playing Football, Softball and travelling. I enjoy teaching Literacy and I love reading books to the children in my class, my favourite author is Roald Dahl. I am really excited to be a part of the Mānuka team this year and working in a collaborative space.

Georgia Avery - Toetoe

My name's Georgia Avery and I'm the new teacher in Toetoe!

I'm very excited to be starting at West Melton School as a beginner teacher, and can't wait to get to know everyone in the West Melton community. I grew up in Dunedin but made the move to Christchurch last year for Teachers College and have loved getting to explore the outer areas of Christchurch.
In my spare time I enjoy dancing (mainly ballet), tramping all over the South Island, and often travel down to Central Otago to visit my parents. I completed my final student placement in Toetoe in term 3 last year so I am a familiar face to some students but I'm looking forward to meeting the rest of the Toetoe kids and the wider school!

Deborah Dent - Fab 5

Kia ora, my name is Deborah Dent. I have 23 years of experience as a teacher and I'm a mum to four adults and a nana to five children. I'm led by my passion for learning, creating, curiosity and making a difference whenever I can. I love to read, ski, swim, go on walks, garden and sew. My favourite places to be are the mountains and the ocean. In my recent experiences doing Taskmaster at West Melton School I have thoroughly enjoyed observing your tamariki taking risks, giving new things a go, working together to problem solve and having fun.
