Over the last couple of terms Sonja Beaumont and Jeanette Neal have been conducting an inquiry into transitions at school. Through their inquiry they identified transition between classes as an area of focus.

They would like to thank the parents who took the time to fill in the survey about transitions. The parent, student and teacher surveys found that we needed to strengthen our transition programme to meet our learners needs. Sonja and Jeanette’s findings have led us to develop a ‘Transitions Week’ which will be held in week 9 of this term. We are excited about this change which we believe will help all learners have a positive transition between classes.

This transition week will give students the opportunity to familiarise themselves with their 2020 classrooms.. The visits will provide an opportunity for learners and teachers to build relationships ready for the following year, see the learning environment, find out who will be in their pods and communities and hear some information about the class programme and any events like camps that may be coming up. There will also be an opportunity for parents to come and meet the new class teacher and see your child's 2020 learning environment on Wednesday 11th December from 2.30pm to 3.30pm.
